Education is the great equaliser.
So is having the confidence to use it.

My parents came to Australia from Uganda in 2006 in search of a better future for our family. They weren't able to give me a formal education themselves — they'd never had that opportunity. But they gave me something just as important: a love of learning.

Our home was filled with books. We had a computer before we had many other things. They taught me that knowledge could open doors, and that where you begin doesn't have to determine where you end.

As I grew older, I realised something else.

Education creates opportunity, but only if people have the confidence to step through the door. A brilliant idea still has to be shared. A scholarship still has to be interviewed for. A job still has to be won. Leadership still begins with a conversation.

Yet communication coaching has traditionally been a privilege — expensive, inaccessible, and out of reach for many of the people who could benefit from it most.

Verbatim exists because I believe that should change.

Built in consultation with speech pathologists and grounded in evidence-based communication strategies, Verbatim combines AI with behavioural coaching to make personalised communication development available to anyone, anywhere. Not to replace human expertise, but to extend its reach so more people can access the kind of coaching that was once available only to a few.

For me, Verbatim is more than a technology company. It's my way of passing forward the opportunity my parents gave me.

My hope is that someone, somewhere, will walk into an interview with more confidence, speak up in a meeting, advocate for themselves, earn a scholarship, start a business, or lead a community because they believed they had something worth saying.

Because when one person gains access to opportunity, the impact rarely ends with them. It reaches families, communities, and future generations.

That's the future I hope Verbatim can help build.
